The Cracker property is composed of 78 contiguous claims that are 100% owned by Benton Resources through direct staking. The property is located approximately 10km northeast of the town of Glenwood, Newfoundland. Access to the property is by well maintained forest access roads.
The Cracker property lies within the Davidsville Group of sediments which are Cambrian to middle Ordovician in age. The unit consists of coarse grained sandstone, locally with shale interclasts, interbedded with grey to black siltstone and slate. Few gabbroic intrusions have also been mapped in the area. Historical exploration in the area has uncovered numerous showings with high gold values. Previous exploration revealed grab and channel samples with the highest gold values of 7.2 g/t, 15.5 g/t, 16.4 g/t , 33.9 g/t and 67.7 g/t.
Work completed to date by Benton include recce soil sampling program which has returned values as high as 787ppb gold. Further recce soils are contemplated to start in early spring to be followed by prospecting, trenching and possible diamond drilling.
