Benton Resources acquired a significant land package adjacent to the Thunder Bay North property owned by Panoramic Resources. Former NWOPA "Discovery of the Year Award" recipient, Magma Metals Ltd., was taken over by Panoramic after drilling up to 5.61 grams per tonne Platinum + Palladium over 61.7m at Thunder Bay North. Benton`s Onion Lake property shares its eastern boundary with Thunder Bay North and immediately to the south of the Onion boundary is Transition Metals' new discovery at their Sunday Lake Project where drilling had up to 3.22 combined PGM’s over 20.2m (XTM-TSX.v PR - Jan 27, 2014).
The Thunder Bay North and Onion Lake properties lie near the boundary between the Archaean granite-gneiss-greenstone terrain to the southwest and the Proterozoic Nipigon Plate to the northeast. In addition to Magma's Discovery, Kennecott Exploration Canada released results for a single drill hole along the same trend as Magma and Benton's Properties. The results from this drillhole included: 10.9m of 2.25g/t Pt+Pd.
Benton currently has a 100% ownership of the property and will seek a partnership to advance the project.
